Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following:

  • Be proactive and follow-up with customers and carriers to resolve problems, answer questions, correspondence, and reports.
  • Maintain a personal book of business and be directly responsible for renewals and servicing of the accounts.
  • Prepares, processes, reviews and monitors various documents such as premiums, policies, claims, applications, changes, etc.
  • Provide leadership and management oversight of staff ensuring constructive interactions and support.
  • Establishing clear goals and deliverables for self and staff and then be accountable for the department delivering on expectations.
  • Create a learning environment for the entire team on all current topics including but not limited to ACA and ERISA.
  • Attends seminars, meetings, or educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest developments, trends, and regulations in the market place. Become the expert and go-to authority on industry issues.
  • Establishes new business procedures and implements strategies in conjunction with production team
  • Creates and maintains computer files and follow-up action.
  • Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.

Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

 

Job Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Insurance agency experience is preferred.

Past experience should include basic insurance, forms, terminology, benefits, life, 401(k), sales, and other related insurance experience. Knowledge of MS Office, Benefit Point, Salesforce, and Outlook. 

New York Insurance agent's license along with any necessary non-resident licenses.
